Köln Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt GmbH (KD) announces that Nina Luig will become a new member of KD’s Management Board as of June 1, 2023. The Cologne native follows Dr. Achim Schloemer. She will be responsible for Sales, Operations, Marketing and Communications. At the same time, she will be spokeswoman for the Management Board.
Nina Luig (40) is currently Deputy Hotel Manager and Director of Operations at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Düsseldorf and has many years of experience in the international service industry. As a native of Cologne who lives with her family in the West of Cologne, she is very familiar with the tourism environment in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Bonn and has an excellent network. Nina Luig began her professional career at the Hyatt Regency in Cologne, on the opposite side of the Rhine from her future office at the Frankenwerft.
Nina Luig is looking forward to her new challenge: “KD is a company with an impressive tradition and charisma. I am proud of the opportunity to create unique experiences on the water together with the team and to responsibly shape the future of KD.”

KD’s operational business will remain in the hands of Managing Directors Jelle van der Steeg and Thomas Günther until Nina Luig takes office on June 1.
